We have a vision

We design bags that work around your lifestyle, rather than having to work your life around a bag’s restrictive design. Our bags are versatile and transform in order to adapt the different carrying needs and moments of your day.

To achieve that level of flexibility we focus our work on imagining and designing products with unexpected features pushing functionality to its limits.

Our core values will guide us

Innovation through versatile designs

By creating a user friendly system that allows to transform our bags in size and shape they become more practical adapting to different carrying needs and all moments of your day.

100% Portuguese Bags

Manufacturing takes place at our studio and also at small scale local factories, with whom we have built a strong and close relation which allows us to meet the workers and see how things are fair and safely managed.

Local & Sustainable Brand

Locally made in Portugal. From sketch and sourcing raw materials to the final product, every step of our chain is local-based in order to minimize our carbon prints and achieve more sustainable products. Another main aspect of sustainability is durability. The choice of strong materials and high quality finishings is a key commitment to ensure our products a long lasting life.

Minimalism

We design functional bags with carefully selected features that deliver a meaningful and positive impact in people’s lives. Minimalism is a statement against mass production and consumption, becoming a lifestyle when people recognise their true needs and choose to surround themselves with what is essential and relevant.

Meet the founder

Hello I’m Sara Ventura, a Bag Designer and Entrepreneur from Lisbon, Portugal.

Since childhood, I saw my grandmother tailoring clothes for women, which aroused my desire to create clothes for myself. Also, my mother was a textile teacher who taught me about raw materials, yarn and weaving. Here was the genetic seed that intuitively, years after, led me to specialize in the design of fashion accessories.

At some point, my “always-on-the-move” lifestyle made me rethink the ongoing needs of carrying everyday objects across various contexts and occasions throughout the day. The result was a highly flexible backpack that transforms into a shoulder bag.

In 2017, I founded BirdWalk with the intention of exploring innovative solutions to transport everyday objects. Also with 3 fundamentals in mind: local production, top quality materials and sustainability. Craft over mass manufacturing, preserving quality over quantity in order to design a better future. Therefore, I take an active role investing in the Portuguese textile industry by selecting materials and production partners at a local level.

With dedication and creativity, BirdWalk formed a small (yet amazing) team and established itself as an independent brand based on partnerships that genuinely share the same values as us.
